I initially thought that I really hadn't done too much to it, compared to my K1200LT, until I listed everything. Looks like this bike is becoming a bad habit. Seems like every other day the mailman is bringing another package to the door.

Now do you wish for the LT center stand and R.
Seriously that should not be too much added weight. But I am interested in 3 of your personal effects: 1 GPS anti-reflective screen does it take away from the sensitivity of the touch screen 2 Flash to pass garage door opener does it offer security and is it unique to the individual meaning I can't ride up to your door and open it and was it an easy install 3M bike coat where did you use it and what are the benefits
I have not seen a picture of your bike as yet hope this is not a hi-jack.

Na....not a hijack. Good questions. I personally have little need for a center stand, muchless a power one with all of it's hydraulics and electronics. I only use my center-stand when I'm working on the bike.

A reverse would be OK, but it's not needed on this bike. I watch where I park and find that it's a lot more maneuverable then the K1200LT. U-Turns are not a big deal.

Do a search on the K1600 Forum for a lot of information on the Flash2Pass. I don't think that there is a security issue. I like it.

I had the dealer do the 3M cover. I think it will pay for it's self. I haven't installed the film on my GPS yet. I have heard that it doesen;t help much with the glare. I'm waiting.

OK Dan I did like you said and went to the K1600 site I went to accessories and through 5 pages of things to add to the 1600. I read about the 3M and the anti glare shield for the GPS but no sign of the flash to pass opener. I felt a bit intimidated as I was reading things I had no idea about. After two years there is still a lot more homework I have to do to learn about the LT so I could only wonder what all you guys are doing on that new page in history. I noticed too that your forum has grown by leaps and bounds. Yes I do take a peak over there every now and then. Will keep searching. Thanks

Here is one of several links with Flash2Pass (F2P) information. I "searched" Flash2Pass.

There are several threads.

Thanks Dan as I said I was not familiar with search on you side of the forum. I will go over the Mnwblet slide show and details. I see this topic has drawn an entertainment section as well as far away as England. I had heard of the horn activation but the high beam is new to me. I will research thoroughly before deciding thanks again.

How accurate is the fitment of the topcase and saddlebag liners from tlc? The tlcproducts photo is not useful- looks like the same photo used for both topcase and saddle bags, and it isn't even the right size for either, unless that's what they look like.

Thanks.

Thanks.

They seem to fit all 3 compartment with very little space left over. Not quite the quality of RKA, but about 1/2 the price.

They also include a monogram of your choice. Mine say BMW- K1600GTL For the limited amount of use, they seem well worth $112.00 and that included shipping.

I just looked at their web site and the pictures don't seem to match the product! Not the best at marketing, but I would order the same product for my K1600 again.

65 watt high beam lamps (waiting for Clearwater to develop their under mirror mounts so I can install my Hella HID driving lights)
P3 lights with extra controller to turn the brake light into a giant P3 light
B2B radio
Chrome trim removed (5 minutes after I pulled the bike into the garage for the first time)

OK "I" dont need the center stand and reverse but I do need this for my knees every once in a while. JPEG's. Is there or will there be a JPEG type of aftermarket product?

Thanks

Steve

Yes Jpeg claims they are working on some type of design for the K1600 but no word yet. If you go to their website you can sign up for reports on how the progress is going on the pegs. I did so and haven't heard a word in months from them.

And I will never, ever tease a Gold Winger or Harley dude again about having too many do-dads on their bikes!!!

Wow! some of these lists are pretty amazing. Do these folks ever ride? My list seems small by comparison:

1) Every BMW option offered for the GTL at the time of order
2) Valentine I Radar (Custom built mount & buried in cowl in place of Right Speaker)
3) BMR Co-Pilot Instrument SunShade w/ Digital Camera mount (Production Unit #1)
see attached photo. These should be available soon.
4) Cortech Tank Bag
5) Throttle Rocker
6) Bill Mayer Seat
7) V-Storm Windshield
8) BMR Topcase Rack (Production Unit #1). see attached photo. These should be available soon
9) Big Ear Stereo Ear Plugs wired to my BMW bluetooth system (see article on this forum)
10) "Special Projects" custom Unigo trailer hitch (see past article posted on site)

At this point I have all the items I feel I need, now I just need to figure out how to quit work so I can ride all the time?

Nice looking shelf and sun screen... How well does it work at making the GPS a little easier to read? It doesn't block the GPS from coming up for removal does it?
