My first deer hit. Spike buck on the side of the road, slowed and hit the horn to be sure he knew I was there, dummy ran right across the front of me, changed his mind and tried to make it back and that's when I hit him. Was slowed to about 30 or so.

He thumped and bumped all the way back under my Dodge 3500. No sheet metal damage, no broken plastic, just a lot of hair, especially under the back bumper. That's also the last road he'll ever try to cross. Call the cops and they asked if had any damage and when I told them no, they told me to just go on and consider myself lucky.

Glad I wasn't on the LT for that one.

That's why so many of the guys 'round here have 'deer chasers' mounted on their pickups.

They wind up saving money.

It was 0415 and I'd been up for just over 24 hours. A pillow was on my mind, not vension, was a real small buck, maybe 20 or 30 pounds of meat, just didn't feel like taking the time to clean it and haul it home.

License? What are those?


That was the first one I hit, had one hit me once. Had stopped on the road to allow another deer to cross and this one crashed into the drivers door of the truck I was driving. Left a big dent. Cops (MP's) wrote me for hitting a deer, that one was real easy to beat in court.
