Thanks Dick! :D I'm over a 5th of the way there on our LT. All of my BMW miles have been on this (our only to date) K12LT.

And I thought I was the only one with over 200,000 miles on an 02 LT. I just recently returned from the national rally and extended trip to Wyoming. During that trip, I crossed over the 250,000 mile mark on my LT.

Tommy,

What major repairs have you performed on the bike? Is the engine and trans original also.
That mileage is amazing. My 03 LTE has 112k so it must still be like new. :)

So far the only major repairs (besides the 6 final drive bearings) was the clutch replacement due to leaking seal. Engine and transmission are original. I did have a problem on my way to the National, bike running on 3 cylinders. Cory, at BMW Motorcycles of Baton Rouge, finally found that it was a faulty spark plug wire. Made it to the rally and went on to Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota. Traveled 5000+ miles with no other problems.

Ernie,

Congratulations are certainly in order. But it would seem you may have a little competition. Looks like it may be time to rake on some miles soon and little less hard work out in the shop. :)

I would like to know more about the maintenance performed to keep the bike running for so long. Air, Fuel, Oil & Oil filter change frequency would help.

How does the bike feel/handle after 100K miles or 200K miles? Is there a difference in the gear shifting, engine breaking performance?

Ernie and Tommy your both Da Man. I am always amazed at some of the huge miles some of you guys put on your bikes. Even if I had the time to ride I don't think I could do it. I bow in honor of you iron butt heroes, good luck on the 300,000 mark.
