Hello,

I have recently joined this forum after having been on the BMW Sport Touring forum for some time. As of Tuesday I will be the new owner of a 1999 K1200LT and will be looking to this group for advice, help, and opinions (I am sure there aren't many opinions here:histerica ). I need to learn all I can about the LT and I will try to be a good member and search the threads first. Actually I have already done that to some extent.

I am looking forward to a long and great relationship here. Thanks for having me.

I'm pretty sure you'll find the clan here to be as helpful and knowledgeable as those folks on the Sport Touring forums - good bunch of riders on both sites, and willing to help when/where they can.

Keep on scanning the archives here, and just getting familiar with the layout and finding the source of needed info - it's in here somewhere and with practice, usually obtainable in quick fashion. If not, give a shout and watch the replies quickly show up!!

It may not be as good as it use to be, but you'll get plenty of heart felt, "bless your pea pick'in heart" advice...Just keep one thing in mind when reading the responses.

I will hang on to the RT for a little while to make real sure the LT is the bike for me, but the intention is to sell it. At least that is what I told my wife . That is my story and I'm sticking to it.
