Somewhere today I lost both my bolts to my front left caliper! Now that I'm stranded, I wanted to know if I took the upper bolt off the front right and torqued it to the bottom left to limp down the highway to the dealer?

If anyone has their Clymer's Manual handy, I can't remember the torque in Nm and what is the size of the two bolts?

Good that you caught it before you grabbed a handful of brakes Kenny! The torque is 40 Nm, and it is an 8mm Allen head on my 2000.

Thank you! Not using front brakes at all until I get two new bolts from the dealer in the morning! They'll have to wake me up to get in the door 'cause I'll be propped up against it!

For a short run u can use in addition to one original a normal Bolt on each side. Bottom Original top normal.

looks like you've done what I would have, You could drive to the nearest fastener or hardware store, pull one bolt, and match it, install them and go! (they are hardened bolts, look at the head marking indicators)

Glad you found out before it became a problem. Hope your ride is going well, and that after today your stops will be well also.

If you cannot find the bolt, call me and I will overnight some to you, even if I have to send them off my bike and park it for a few days. It takes a village to own an LT!

The dealer had 2 bolts on-hand this morning and got me back on the road! Thanks for the responses and help! :wave
