My 2011 R1200RT learned a new trick yesterday -- the handlebars will no longer lock. Before I take it to Bob's, does anyone have a quick fix?

Not sure about the 1200, but on my R1100RT, the handlebars lock just shy of the full extreme of the turns left or right. Sometimes I have to back off a half inch or so before the lock will engage when I park the bike. Try moving the handlebars slightly back while engaging the lock on the ignition switch and see if that helps...

Never lock mine. Had another brand permanently lock once. After that, never again. Hard to get home riding in a tight left circle.

I agree with boimetrics. At first I thought mine didn't lock. But, I have learned I need to keep one hand on the key with constant pressure trying to lock it, and the other hand on the handlebars, wiggling them back and forth. Mine has only one sweet spot that it needs to find to lock them.
