How is this being updated, added, edited, and opinions deleted?
I’m a better mechanic/electrician than any of my 30 male friends/riding buddies. I’ve worked on over 70 bikes of all types, had 23 motorcycles and can fix just about anything. I'm a retired degreed engineer and Maintenance Manager.
I have suggested several mods, fixes and recommendations but none have made it in there.
Examples not in the Hall (but not all my idea): Terminal 21 location and early LT ABS resetting, fixing reverse, much less expensive aux. lights, slave cylinder gasket slotting, easy canisterectomy, brackets for lower fairing rattle, reversing bent crash bars, how to get dash indicator bulbs replaced without removing anything, and mounting $2 cup holders.
Can I help whoever is maintaning these very informative files?

I'll send a note to the admins and see who currently owns the HoW. Whee did you make the suggestions, or who to?

I do not recommend gasket slotting for the slave cylinder drain. This does not open up enough area, and is way back from the nose of the slave cylinder, where the nose taper closes down the opening between the nose and bore of the transmission housing.

When the slave fails, it rapidly gets to a point where a LOT of brake fluid is forced out by the pressure, and this needs to get out fast, not like a transmission seal leak, where tranny fluid gathers in the bore slowly. Just slotting the gasket was what I thought of doing originally, then realized that was not big enough, so started the hole drilling procedure. The slave failure may start as a slow leak, but can end up with all the fluid pushed down by one pull of the clutch lever being forced out rapidly.

Updating HOW (Hall Of Wisdom)

It's just not just what enhancements, improvements, and additions I have made over the last 7 months but all made by the intelligent members of this group. I'm a member of several other forums and nobody does it as well as this one. Due to the complexity of our LT's, & lack of BMW addressing on- going issues has made this the BEST forum I have seen, BUT the Hall has to be keep up to date. The HOW is technical and must be monitored by such people to keep out Opinions, otherwise too much (poor) advice is just as bad as none.
Grounding pin 21 on the ABS has to make it in the HOW. It saved me $250-2500.
Even slotting the bottom of the slave cylinder gasket rather than drilling a hole may not be right (saw it on another BMW website)
