I hope that I'm posting this in the right section. I am wondering if those that regularly ride in packs (groups of 3 or more) can give some information on proper riding techniques. Last year I organized a ride with 4 other riders none of which have ridden together for long distances. I am interested techniques when riding on the highway, in town, in high traffic situations and negotiating turns and/or bends. Also what to do when a rider wants to take the lead or go mid pack.
Reason why I am asking is that last year we almost had a close call when another rider almost slammed into my back tire when slow riding in town. He ended up locking the front wheel in a panick and almost slid his bike. I am organizing a small group of 3 riders to go to Banff National Park this summer so I would like some ideas to present to my fellow riders.

Thanks!
