Hi, Strange as it may seem, being a supremely intelligent male person, i need a bit of assistance. In other words "HELP". I am trying to remove the gearbox, as the Europeans say, to replace a seal on the front of it. My Question is, is it necessary to removal everything the manuals say, like the fuel injector rail, fans and radiators? I am a lazy guy and the less I have to do the better I like it. I thought there was a technical piece about this job, but I can't seem to locate it, if it exists. Any help would be appreciated. Oh, the motorcycle is a K1200LT, '99 vintage, with 66K on it.

Yes, you will have to remove all the stuff the manual says. The engine has to rotate downward in order to get to the gearbox mounting bolts and remove it from the engine.

Wrong answer! Thanks for playing...... :D :rotf: .

If you watch what you are doing as you lower the rear of the engine you can save the hassle of removing the radiatiors and the fuel rail. Do however remove the air box....
