There are alot of new people on this site and I thought it might be a good idea for them to be able to benefit from all the experience that has accumulated here. One area that is tough to make choices because of the bewildering variety of products on the market is riding gear. I thought it might help for everyone to put down their favorite gear. This is the first stuff you would generally reach for if you were going on a long ride and would be your first choice because of fit, quality, durability and price. Here is a list of the most generally used riding gear. List your #1 Choice after it.

Helmet - Shoei Multec

Some of the gear I wear depends on temp. I always take 2 and sometime 3 pairs of gloves as I'm rather fickle about the temp of my hands. With this gear I've ridden in temps from 24 to 107 in GA.

Helmet - Shoei Multitec
Jacket - Tourmaster Sabre 2 (under 70), Firstgear Mesh Tec (70+)
Pants - Diamond Gusset Kevlar jeans
Gloves - BMW Goretex Winter (under 40), Olympia All-Season (40-60, Tourmaster Dearskin (60-80), Firstgear Mesh (80+)
Boots - TSX Airmesh Goretex
Heated - Warm and Safe Jacket Liner
Rain - Frogg Toggs

Helmet: HJC, symax and symax II
Jacket: Joe Rocket Ego - it's leather, but unzips to two pieces leaving the front and forearms as mesh. It leaves the shoulder, elbow and back armor in place. Pretty darned convenient for all year riding.
Pants: Xelement leather pants, no armor
Boots: Danner leather lace-ups - old work boots, waterproof and thinsulate, good all year round.
Gloves: several pairs, mostly Xelement kevlar gauntlet style, light weight year round.
