I may have found another source for the metal QD's and they don't cost a fortune. http://sampson-sporttouring.com/hardware.html
Going to order a pair and see how they do.
True,,, But the additional couplings will make those QD too long.
This QD is also intended to connect a Aux fuel cell fuel line to the low pressure return. I would not use these for the high pressure fuel feed or low pressure return . Fuel flow is reduced with these.

Adding this cross-thread link to show another source for parts and photos of finished installation. Look about for posts into that thread. . .

Got the QD's today...well my order is missing one of the female ends :( The brass barb nipples are kinda long but they can be cut shorter without a problem. Also, since they screw into the actual QD you can get any style/size of nipple for them (look in Home Depot plumbing area).
The actual connector is VERY sturdy and is the same type we use in the aerospace industry for high pressure QD's. I doubt there will be any problem using them on the fuel cell since the bike's "high pressure" should be around 50 lbs max. The fittings also flow very freely, doubtful that they'll restrict the fuel flow.
Now I just need to get them to send the one they forgot...

That is the hot setup. The QD from sampson will work as a tie in with a aux cell but are IMO to long. I was using the sampson QD with my cell no problems but the additional hardware took up to much space . Fuel transfer of 4.8 gallons with pump take just under 25 minuets. Now with the 3/8 QD I save a ton of space and fuel transfers are down to 12 minuets.
