The plastic flange, female fitting where the quick connect screws in on the fuel pump discharge/tank interface. This flange cracks after a few years on some bikes, especially if you change out the BMW plastic quick connect with a metal one to prevent failure or repair failure. This issue is explored on the I-BMW site. Here is a repair/preventative action device. The current flanges from BMW have a metal ring around them.
