Was out the other day and was in a nice easy turn doing about 55 mph..both hands on the bars coasting into the turn..was just about to add throttle for the exit out of the turn when the front wheel started to wobble back and forth on me..slowed down by using a little trail braking and it went away..sort got my attention..
out of the turn, I shook the bars right and left trying to induce the wobble again while straight and level at about 45 mph..nothing..
accelerated to 80mph in stages while trying induce the wobble again but everything was copasetic..the road surface looked ok(smooth asphalt)..
checked the front end when I got home and everything was solid..the tires are Metzler 880's and have about 7,000 miles on them..
no leaks on the garage floor..bike has 43k miles on it..
I felt that maybe the road might have had some contours that I missed and the bike just followed them in the turn..
any other ideas/comments/whatevers?

Read through the various recent threads on "head shake" or "wobble".... in case anything there seems familiar. A couple of them:

Try decelerating from around 40-50mph with very loose grip on the bars, and see if it starts up again.
Here's the problem on mine:

Hope yours is something less evil!

Mine does that... if I'm rolling on and get any rise/fall/rise in the pavement (saphalt or concrete), I get the oscillation... The problem is some my handlebar input, some road variation.

A buncha posts have been written on "technique" of turning or "riding style".

When entering a turn, do you "press" down on the inside bar? Tense your torso or shoulders? Yeah.. us Jarheads tend to do that. Ok, I'm the only one....nevermind.

There could have been picked up some "liquid" at another place then when you "entered" the turn and leaned enough for "contact", you had a variation in traction which induced the "wobble".

Have you re-ridden that stretch of road to see if you can duplicate? If you can, take the dealer's wrench out there and let him try it.

Hey Chris, my wobble is not that bad!! just a low frequency oscillation

Have had no problems with suspension since I bought it new in Aug, 2005.

I do the "slow, look, lean, throttle" thing in turns. I guess I press and lean at the same time. I must have encountered some kind of road variation in the turn. I've ridden it many times before but I think I'll go back and look it over again (if I can remember exactly where it happened)

Thanks for responses, guys.. greatly appreciated..rubber side down!!

wobble gone

I had a wobble when I slowed to around 40mph. I had right at 8000miles on her and it had 020's on it. I changed to the Metz and the wobble went away.
