Wanted to gather information on the wear of front rotors. Yesterday I noticed a rubbing sound from the front brake rotors. Kind of like I had a high spot on one of the rotors, ya know, wheel goes round and about every rotation at some point you here the brake rotor dragging.
Have good braking and about 1/3 pad left.
26K miles.
Replaced all pads about 12K miles ago.
2003.

Thanks!

You're absolutely correct diagnosing a high spot.

Of course, EVERYONE is going to tell you is that your rotor is warped  when what you've probably got is thickness variation (TV) caused by cementite buildup. This stuff is amazingly hard and is classified as a ceramic.

I've used fine garnet paper and a block of wood in the past to remove it. Scrub in a circular motion and remember - you normally can't see it. Takes some elbow grease but it works well. :thumb:
