Can someone tell me an easy way to get the pin out that holds the front brake shoes in. I have tried and I am not having any luck.

Yup, other side from the slotted head, place a straight pin punch in from behind and it will tap out.

It's those pesky anti-rattle springs on the pads that won't let go of the pin. Just tap it out as indicated in the previous posts.

It is not the anti rattle springs, there is a split curved bushing on the pin to hold it in place.

True I forgot about that. But I always have trouble pushing the pin back in due to the rattle springs.
