Back when I was working as a HD technician, well before everything became chrome. We had a problem with the lower fork legs looking like crap as rocks would pit them.

I would take the tire and fender off to better work with them, starting with some course sandpaper and working to a fine you could get a nice polish fork leg. Finish off with some aluminum polish and they looked great!

Has anybody ever tried this on the LT fork legs?

Granted, the HD legs started off with a much smoother finish, the BMW legs are very rough, maybe I'll just re-paint them!

Ideas? I could send them out for chrome!
