I'm sure that its a matter of what you're used to, but I've never liked floorboards. I've only had two motorcycles that had them (HD and a Kawasaki), and I didn't like them. Just doesn't seem to me that they'd be a good match for the GTL anyway.

I've rode a few K1200LT with them & they are ALWAYS in the way. To put my feet down I had to go in front or behind the boards. Either way It made holding up the bike a real pain. Now my passengers all loved the rear floorboards as they could move their feet around.

I have no use for floor boards but Barb loves her passenger floor boards.
Like you I don't want rider floor boards but my passanger (bride) misses having them. Where did you get passanger floorboards for the K1600?

I bought the Kuryakyn black ribbed floorboards (list 140 I paid slightly less, don't remember the exact amount) and a splined adapter mount for 25.00. I then took some measurements drew up a mount and sent it to a local machinist who modified the adapter mount, and welded it to the mount he made from my drawings. I had the mount made of stainless. I was charged 85.00 for the mounts and welding. I like the boards because they are black and have 5 different mounting positions, but most of all my wife is happy.
