I have a 99 K1200Lt with 32k. I changed the final drive fluid last night. I used Mobil 1 GL5 75-90W synthetic. After about a 30 mile ride I left the bike in the garage overnight. This morning a small drop of oil was on the garage floor. Looks like it came from around the rear section of the boot between the drive shaft and the final drive (held in place with what looks like a zip tie?). I may have overfilled the final drive a tad. Is this a big deal? Should there be any oil in this area of the shaft? BTW I am going on a approx. 4K ride in two weeks. I need some advice here. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a pinion seal leak and that is not a big deal unless it lets a lot of fluid out. This is NOT an indication of a pending drive failure.

I would pull the boot and take a look as it could also be coming from the rear transmission seal and down the swing arm.
