I recently acquired a 2002 basic LT, it does not have the changer in the right panneir, however it does have a CD player in the oddments box. I want to hook up a dice unit if possible. Looked around, found some connector listed, but the link is no good anymore. Any help on where I can buy all the parts I need would be greatly appreciated including the dice unit. I admit I am not an apple person so anything apple related is foreign to me.

Sheldan, I believe you have to have the factory CD Changer harness for the Dice to work...at least that is what I had on my 2005 when I used the Dice.

I have just wasted lots of money to get song info displayed on my 2009 LT. It seems that there is currently nothing out there which can do that, but in the process of finding a solution, I spent many hours on the net to learn more on how to hook up an iPod to the LT.
The Dension 300 which plugs in at the back of the radio, should work on your bike, (i.e. the Dension GW33BM1 like this example: http://car-solutions.com/en/Car-iPod-USB-Adapter-Dension-Gateway-300-for-BMW-GW33BM1.php). Some dealers make a harness for the Dension which plugs in on the CD Changer cables – make sure you don’t get that version.
Remember the iPod cable does not come with the Dension unit and needs to be ordered separately: http://car-solutions.com/en/9-Pin-iPod-iPhone-Dock-Cable-Kit-Dension-IPO5DC9.php.
From what I could determine, the Dension will display song info on the older style radios (pre 2006) – Here is a video on how to configure the unit to do that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkY2kWweN0I (It is a video by enfigcarstudio.com – their unit is customized however to hook up where the CD Changer is usually installed in the right saddle bag.
This thread should be of help on how to plug the Dension into your radio: http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8680&highlight=aux+input.
I tried the Dension (the abovementioned unit which plugs in directly on the radio) as well as the Dice Duo on my LT (which plugs into the CD cables) and the Dension has better sound and is more responsive compared to the Dice Duo. Neither is however able to display song info on the newer LT radio’s.
Word of warning: Don’t expect much help from either Dice or Dension’s support if you get stuck. Dension did respond, but was slow to do so and not very helpful. Dice have after 3 weeks not responded to any of my emails to various people at Dice, or the support ticket I opened on their website.

If you don't have the wiring in the right saddlebag for the C/D changer then you would need that wire harness. That can be expensive.

I do have the harness on my other bike, so I could use that. I pulled the changer out a few years back when I changed radios.

If you have a harness and can install it, then it should be no problem connecting the Dice.
