I know this might be a stupid question for a few but I do not know and am curious. If my bike was bought at a dealer out of state will I get the same warranty service at my local dealer. Thats with MFG warranty and extended.
Ofcourse I asked the salesman that sold me the bike but he was selling me the bike if you know what I mean. Thanks

The factory warrenty should be good at any BMW dealer. I know that works for mine. And my extended warrenty (Western) works at any authorized warrenty center. OK, I did not read the fine print, but both dealers tell me they accept it, and I do need to check it a bit further to see just where it is accepted. But I had heard (on this forum as well) that Western is one of the better extended warrenties so took it when it was offered.

The Manufacturer's warranty should be valid at all BMW Motorcycle dealers. But, I have read threads posted on this site where dealers wouldn't work on a bike that wasn't purchased from them. But, I am under the impression that they really don't have a choice.

An extended warranty should be good at any location that services BMW. The dealers shouldn't care if it is an extended warranty or not. They know that you are ultimately responsible for payment if the warranty company doesn't not make good.

I had no problem with warranty work on my LT which I bought as 3rd owner. Original dealer was Engle in KC, but two dealers in AZ did warranty fixes. IIIRC you can call BMW and register as the current owner.

It depends on your local dealer. I bought my '04 (Feb of '05 and 1500 miles on it) at BMW of North Texas. When I took it into the stealership in St. Louis for an oil leak, they told me to take it back to TX. That stealership went out of business...hee...hee...hee. The LT is an okay bike, but the company and the attitude of some of these stealers SUCK! I have talked to the owner of the new dealership in St. Louis and when I asked about the final drive issues some owners were experiencing he just played dump and said he had not heard of any problems.
