Got Georgia on your mind? We do as well, and are certain that Chateau Elan is going to continue our tradition of sell-out events. From its location in Braselton, north-east of Atlanta, we’ll have access to the north Georgia mountains including the near-mythical rides of the Cherohala Skyway, the Tail of the Dragon at Deal’s Gap, the Blue-Ridge Parkway, and for those of us riding in from the middle and western states, the opportunity to ride Talimena Skyway in the Ozarks, the Natchez Trace, and others.

The presentation video showed Chateau Elan to be far from rustic, and that appearance may have mislead some of you to think it will be very expensive, but that is not the case. Compared to the base rate at Jackson of $135 to 175 and as high as $235 for view cottage rooms, without air conditioning, television, internet access, etc, but with a whole lot of the great outdoors thrown in for free, Chateau Elan is offering us a specially discounted base rate, run of the house, of $119, including 34 suites at $169, all 6 of their two-bedroom golf course villas at $230, and all 3 of their three-bedroom golf course villas at $330. Any way you or your closest riding buddies cut it you can have a room in the middle of a 3500 acre winery and resort, four pools, restaurants out the wazoo, all clustered around ground zero for CCR for less than $120 a night.

And the perks that are included free that some of our attendees missed in communing with sublime moosiness in the the national park? High speed wireless internet in all rooms and most public areas. Air conditioning. Cable television. And more. If you’ve not checkout out their site, look at www.chateauelanatlanta.com

The Resort offers us a host of optional activities at extra cost including discounted green fees on their resort course and discounted playing fees for their tennis courts for you exercise fanatics, special packages for sybarites at their full-service European Spa, equestrian activities for those of you who also enjoy non-iron horses, cooking classes, winery and wine-making tours, and more to come.

Pre-registration for attendees who were at Jackson is now open for the balance of October. Regular registration will begin after the first of the year, and, as in years past, you will not be able to register at Chateau Elan with the special rates until you have received your CCR registration number, however, to make registration even easier this year, we plan to have a direct registration link to Chateau Elan Registration from the CCR page so it can be handled online.

Other offerings are still being worked out as third party schedules become firm, but they include optional and extra cost activities at Road Atlanta Raceway, including the Suzuki Motorcycle School (but not on your BMW), a possible BMW Corral and hospitality tent at the AMA Superbike Championship over Labor Day Weekend for those of you who want to stay on, and a chance to roll around the track a few times early in the CCR event week on your own ride. Details on all of these will post to the CCR site as details are finalized.

And if you are a serious Golf Cowboy as well as a Curve Cowboy, keep your eye on the CCR site. Have we got a deal for you!

So, stay tuned. This will be another event that will be remembered over many years by the fortunate folks who sign up before we sell out. And if you know you could make this one even better, volunteer to work toward that end -- the rest of us can use your advice and input, and for sure can use the help! I'll be posting committee head information and contact addys here in the next day or two. Volunteer! You can make a difference!

See you in Georgia, and along the way!
