99 LT -- Cruise control quit. The left side fairing is removed. There is power to the c.c. multifunction switch in the #6 G/B wire. #5 Br wire is ground. Which wire sends power to the control box? #1 G/W -- #3 Y/BL -- #2 Purple/BL ?

Since you have the left side exposed, check the Throttle grip switch at the throttle body for proper operation. If you have adjusted the throttle cables recently, this could be the issue as there needs to be free play in the close cable which allows the switch to not rest or operate in a closed position. At rest, this switch should not be closed and you should hear the click when turning the throttle past its closed resting point. If not enough free play cruise will not engage. There is a switch on the clutch also that is part of the cruise interlock. If the clutch switch is not opening, cruise will not engage. Also check to make sure your break lights are not on.

Green White does but that is not the #1 cause of cruise issues. If the red light comes on by the switch you have power OK. There is a trouble shooting thread that runs you through several steps to help isolate what is keeping it from working. Throttle switch, clutch switch and either of brake switches are usually the culprit. Look here for more info.

Thank you, Thank you - coolk - axle - jz . The problem may have started last Oct when I replaced the fuel rail. I just haven't been on the freeway until last month. I'll check these areas & let everyone know.

Remember, it can be several things at once. I bought my 2000 last September and cruise did not work. The owner had done the retrofit for the throttle cables. After reading all I could I found the cables were not adjusted correctly so the switch at the throttle body end could not release. I adjusted them and then no joy so I kept digging and found the clutch switch in the left lever assembly was dirty and never released. Now she works great. I've done another SS1000 since the repair and love cruise control.

The cruise control self diagnosis is great. At first, the LT was failing all the steps after #3. I ended up pulling the fuel rail and air box to see what was going on. I didn't need to. But it gave me piece of mind. At the handlebar, the forward throttle cable was too tight. (just like you guys said). It now passes all the diagnosis steps. I am now putting it back together. Thank you all

Glad you got this fixed - once you are used to a real cruise-control you can never go back without one ;-)

Your situation is pretty common for K1200LT where most cruise-control issues (about 50%) are caused by either:
(1) incorrect throttle cables free-play
... OR
(2) incorrect throttle-cables routing (which will also affect free play and pressure release when cable should be returning to idle stop)

Other most common cases are clutch micro-switch getting a bit loose inside -OR- rear-pedal brake switch (dirt, bent or has moved)
