Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Any ideas how I can work through the system to identify the problem?
Thanks

My cruise control stopped working whilst on a ride about 2 months ago. I pulled the fuse, checked it, all ok, refitted it and all was well. I hate it when I don't understand something but the system hasn't faltered since. First fault I have experienced in 3 1/2 years of owning the bike.

See if this helps any.
Before I would remove any plastic to adjust the microswitch on the fuel rail I'd just check the cable adjustment at the handlebar. Even if there is some play, and the cables are stiff (worn out), the clearances can be too tight and not letting the switch return to the off position. In addition, if the cruise control is working at the time of the attached test the test will not show a fault. This test is excellent to show where the fault is located; when you get to where it will not light up the light on the dash you have found your problem.
