In France it's legal to inform other road users that there is a police whatever trap ahead. France has a system called Coyote radar you can check it out on the Web. Every member has a small box onboard, when he sees a mobile radar he presses a button on the Coyote box this informs all riders in the area to take care. It also carries all the fixed radar stations.
I'm not in agreement with speeding rules are rules but in France it's a great money maker for the police & worst of all you loose points on your license for doing 5mph over the limit.
Question is do you have anything like it in the States?

Escort actually has a speed trap database that you can download on the models of detectors that support that technology so you get an alert when you get into a danger zone, the only danger really being getting a ticket.
Make no mistake, speeding tickets are a revenue maker and contribute very little to safety.

Yes, there are a number of similar systems from various companies. Some are simple and inexpensive smartphone apps.
