I just removed my slave cylinder to drill the weep hole and found a little nice clean fluid inside the housing. Is this normal or was it starting to leak? I'm picking up a new one anyway, was just curious.

Many of us have found this. You need to determine (by smell usually) if it is Brake Fluid (from the slave) or gear oil (from input shaft seal). If you have not experienced any slipping of the clutch, you just may have caught it in time.

Hi,

I found fluid on the clutch actuator rod past the felt seal

I was lucky, since it only penetrated a 1/2" or so. The cluctch was unaffected!

Go ahead and replace the seals, felt and drill holes in the clutch housing (for main seal leaks) and slave housing.

Go ahead and buy a lottery ticket, your luck may still be holding out

Same thing just happen to me, go ahead and change slave cylinder, input seal and transmission output seal.

Any fluid in this cavity is bad news.

Apparently brake fluid will attack the transmission seal and tranny fluid will attack the slave seal. So you're knackered either way.

It seems the only course of action is to replace the slave cylinder and the transmission seal which it sits against.
