Ok called local shop because my clutch is slipping. Quoting around $1200 - $1700. he said if you are going to go ahead and tear into the bike that much that he would replace slave cylinder, drill weep hole, replace rear main seal, clutch plates and possibly replace "pressure plates". Anyone have experience with having this done and is this reasonable?

Also replace all the transmission seals while it is out. It is good that the dealer will drill the drain hole, some less enlightened dealers won't.

Unless heat damaged or grooved, there is no need to replace the pressure plate or cover plate. They can easily be cleaned up with solvent.

$1200 is a decent price for the work, about average. $1700 is quite high in my opinion.

Also, be sure he replaces the O-ring on the engine output shaft when he replaces the main seal! The O-ring hardens and cracks, and is probably the culprit of leaks far more often than the seal.
