Ok, got my viton o-rings for the out put shaft for my clutch,
/ seal job. Now, looking into the clutch slave. Is there something special about the prefered unit to get? or is the stock BMW oem good enough, John your thoughts

I am afraid that is all there is. They did do a re-design after 05 on the slave. Don't know if it is better (mine has been in there for 60K so far).

Do you have BlauBeeMr's guide to the task? It is well done and lists all the steps and parts.

Can someone please advise the actual dimensions of the 4mm x 19 mm O ring ? Is the 19 mm the ID, OD or pitch diameter ? Thanks.

O-rings are sized by ID and cross section of the material. Thus a 19x4 has an ID of 19 mm and a thickness of 4 mm. That would make the OD 27 mm (19 + 4 + 4 = 27).
