Yesterday morning I was going to ride my '98 R1200C with 70k miles but couldn't because the clutch lever will not disengage the clutch. It was fine on the previous day with no apparent slipping or any sign of pending trouble in the clutch. The fluid in the resoivoir indicates a normal level. The clutch lever still has spring tension to it but it is just a little easier to squeeze than the previous day when it was working. I have an appt at the dealer for it to be worked on tomorrow but would like to be smarter before I commit to their expertise. Thanks in advance!

Likely the slave cylinder.. If the clutch hasn't been contaminated with fluid, Not too bad...

It doesn't sound like you've pumped a bunch of brake fluid out of the res and onto the clutch so hopefully that part will be ok...

Good Luck..
