What's the best cleaner out there for cleaning up the bottom of the engine & intermediate housings from a leak? I was gonna shoot it with brake cleaner, but figured I'd better hold off to make sure it's safe for all the materials it might end up on. I could spray onto a rag, but it would be hard to get up in between the fins & such...

When I change the oil, I always use brake cleaner to clean the oil filter cover while holding it over a trash can. It is better than taking a rag and cleaning between the fins. It dries fast and is easier to handle when re-installing. Anyway, brake fluid should not damage anything, just keep it on the engine parts.

MMM.....

GoJo.
Cleans grease and oil from anything.

I scrub the chains on my other bikes with GoJo and a scrub brush.

Best yet is when you splash it all over your clothes, it wash right out.
