Anyone know of a really cheap car for sale near Portland? I'm flying up for work again, and the mountain passes are still a bit rough for a bike. Hertz wants $1,200 minimum for a six-week rental, and I figure if I can pick up something for $500-$1,000 I'm ahead of the game. Plus I can just leave it at the apartment for as long as I'm working up that way.

Or how about a reputable used car dealership?

There are tons of cars in this price range in the Portland area (or just about anywhere). There are vehicles that are good commuters, verry very well used, nice looking and mechanical problems, ugly and runs good, runs good but are gas guzzlers, etc...
