I have not researched this yet but thought the Forum would already know. Is there an option for an electro/hydraulic center stand. I think it was available on the LT version. I think it would be a great add to the GLT. Will the old stand pick the bike up from a flat tire position?

No Power stand on the K1600.

Some will disagree, but I miss the power center stand. I used mine a lot on my old LT. Lots of weight and I am sure not enough room for it on the 1600.

Nope, not available on the K16, nor is it necessary.

It was a nice feature for the overweight K12LT, but at the cost of added weight and complication.

The K16 is far lighter, plus the center stand geometry is improved, which means that it goes onto the center stand much easier than the LT ever did.

I wouldn't mind a simple spring-operated ride-off center stand like I fitted to an old Yamaha XS11 many years ago. Now that was a useful feature.

Loved the center stand on the LT. Weight vs usefullness, I'll take the power stand any day IMHO

It is a nice option on the LT, but I really only use it in my garage, as much for space saving as of taking the weight off the tires for long term storage.

Only once in a long while is the ground so uneven or soft that two feet work better.

Agreed. I'll take close to 100 lbs off the bike, which makes a noticeable difference at slow speeds and fast speeds, over a power center stand that's only useful when stopped.

1st off I don't own a K1600( I wish) but do own a 07 LT with the hyd. center stand.. I use it quite a bit and I am always amused by the onlookers that have never seen such a thing...
I have even used it two Up and gotten off first to help the lady off... never been able to do that before...of course always on stable flat ground.

Curious though, as some have mentioned the weight.. what is the weight off hand of this marvelous invention...
