Very noticeable performance after using non-ethanol only since I bought this bike-a gas leak mysteriously stopped, could this have been part of the reason-flushing out old gas

Could be not sure what was in there before. I have used Shell 93 with up to 10% E for the last 19 years and she always runs great.

Out here in CA, we have available premium unleaded 91 octane fuel with no ethanol. I have noticed as I ride cross country there is unleaded 93 octane fuel with up to 10% E as John mentioned. I have not noticed any difference while riding, though I seem to get a little better gas mileage with the non-ethanol fuel (over 50 mpg vs under 50).
Pure Gasoline contains more BTU/volume of fuel vs E10 or worse E85. So one would expect more MPG running on Pure Gasoline and therefore it feels a little more peppy.

How many miles on your bike? They do take awhile to fully break in. Sweet spot is about 25 K.

95k-Thats why I keep scratching my head about its behavior-It's been serviced regularly just from my experiences with other bikes looking it over

Where can you buy non ethanol gas? (that is gas with zero ethanol) I have not seen it in many, many years near Los Angeles.
Bruce - I am not sure where you are purchasing fuel in Los Angeles county... but, I have not seen any E gas until I hit the Rockies heading east!

Wow! I just googled "ethanol fuel" and I was surprised to see it available around the southland here., though no stations close by home.
I guess I only use premium 91 octane out here and I never noticed the ethanol gas option.

The 87, 89 and even premium 91 Octane in all of California have Ethanol at a level of around 10%.

All of it. There is NO non ethanol containing fuel available at any gas station near any major city.

It must be a Democratic Party decision I would guess then-Here in the poor Republican ran state of Alabama there are at least 3 gas stations within 10 miles of my home with completely non-ethano fuel for sale at the pumps of the gas stations
