I am trying to change my front pads and I have a problem.
I have a cd repair manual and the instructions are very good.
I have gotten to the stage where I need to remove the pin to release the pads.
The manual says to pull the pin out.
No go! It has a spot for a flat bladed screw driver but all that does is spin the pin.(so I am assuming the pin is not seized) I have removed the clip so that's not the problem.
There is a small hole at the back side of the caliper, and I can see the pin. I tried to push the pin out, but again, no go.
Can you help??

I presume you have removed the caliper from the fork leg and have also removed the retaining clip on the pin? If so the pin should slide out either side of the caliper and the pads drop out the bottom. If it does not there may be a wear notch on the pin - try wiggling the pads to free the pin.

Hi cfell.
You are right,
There is a clip that fits through the pin.
I had already removed that and can see nothing else.
It has me at a loss for ideas.

John,
The hole in the back of the caliper is much smaller than in the front.
It will only come out 1 way.

The slot is there to line up the hole for the pin when putting it back. I would try a small drift to tap the pin out, there may be a build up of brake dust that just won't let it slid out easily, but a few taps could free it up.

Also, the pin spins freely. I have removed the springs on the pads so they are floating completely free.

Ok Grif,
I will give that a try.
I can't see anything holding or impeding the pin.
Kind of scares me to hit anything though!

Glad you got it out. It's kind of like having an "Easy" button for the LT. (Do they have Staples Office Supply in Canada?)
