I have been scolded before for not properly starting a thread in the right place before, so sorry if this in the wrong place.
I'm replacing the front brake lines on my 2000 LT, I have the Spiegler lines and thanks to the post on this site, I removed the tupperware for the first time with no issues. Thanks gents.
The guy at Spiegler told me that the only issue I need to watch out for is the sequence to replace the lines. he said there may be problems properly bleeding the ABS if not done in the proper order.
Question #1. Does anyone know the proper order to remove and replace?
#2 What are the challenges to bleeding the ABS?
I've done hundreds of brake jobs on cars and truck but never on a bike and never on an ABS system.
What should I do friends?

On the 2000 LT, there really isn't anything special about bleeding the brakes, because it isn't a servo-assist ABS unit. My friend billd and I changed out my ABS unit this past spring, and when we did it, we put new Speiglers on it, and we had no issues with getting the brakes bled.

A vacuum bleeder would make the job a little easier as it will draw the fluid through the lines more efficiently than pumping the levers, but not necessary. I replaced all my lines with spieglers and then bled all the lines after they were installed - nothing special. Just make sure that you do not forget to bleed at the ABS unit under the seat after you bleed the calipers. After you bleed them all, go back and bleed them all again just to be sure. You will be very pleased with the spieglers.

You should have also bought the rear circuit lines to do them at the same time, you might actually want to consider that so you have everything fresh and good at the same time. The rear lines are just as old and will cause equal amounts of problems and damage if they blow out - just my .02's worth.

Like the others have said - if you have done lots of cars this is no different. The top of the ABS unit is just a high point in the system and the rear bleeder is marked HR and the other one is the front. Just bleed to the calipers first followed by the ABS bleeder.

Thanks guys. The only thing I've learned as I age is to ask questions before I start. I didn't realize that I would need to remove some rear tupperware to get to the ABS, but after taking off the front, it should be easy.
I do have a follow up. I ordered the Spiegler Brake line kit with front and back lines. But as I was removing the lines last night, I found that the line that burst was actually the line running from the Master Cylinder along the handlebar that joins a union on the frame. This line is not in the kit.
Has anyone found this to be the caseas well? I sure don't want to run all new lines and then leave that line. I'm calling this morning get that line but I find it curious that it's not included.

I'm a dope. It was in the kit. Dave at Spieglers was patient and very helpful this morning and calmly helped me figure it out. The Spiegler kit is worth every penny, as the dealer wanted $600 to replace the front lines only and that price is for NON braided lines.
