My battery was down due to non-usage. I recharged the battery and when I started the bike, the brake failure light was on (not flashing) I disconnected the negative post for 15-20 minutes thinking that this would solve the problem but now I have a flashing brake failure warning light. Brakes seem to be working fine and didn't have any previous problem. Bike was not used for two months. Anyone have any solution??
Bike is a 2003 K1200 LT

+1. I had similar issue - you might find it in a search. I had to add a small amount of brake fluid too, I think.

+1 Check both reserves. Just dropping a tiny bit will get the lights a flashing.

I think Dan meant reservoirs. The rear reservoir is dual chambered and is very sensitive to dropping fluid levels. Try topping of both and see if that does it. The 2003 system is self clearing once you remove what is causing the fault. So no need to disconnect the battery.
