Hello all

I am thinking of installing the Baher intercom system on my 05 klt, and I know a majority of members here wear full face helmets. My question is, I have not had the good fortune of finding a full face helmet that feels comfortable to me, and my wife just wont even attempt one...

So I pose the question, anyone out there that rides with a open face helmet and use's a boom mic, do you have any problems or concernes with using it?

Right now I ride with a Bell helmet with a full face shield that rotates up under the visor, I like this helmet alot, and I don't know if a boom mic will even work with it? So any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Glen

We used boom mics with our 3/4 helmets and wind noise was not an issue for us

Glen, I don't use an open-face helmet any longer but I don't think any quality boom mic will be a problem. The Baehr headset (speakers and mic) comes with a foam mic cover; it keeps the wind noise out of the microphone.

My wife was also reluctant to switch from an open-face to a full-face helmet. She thought she would feel claustrophobic; the solution was to go to a modular (flip-up) helmet. Once she wore it for awhile it was no longer an issue. She could flip up the bottom piece any time she wanted to; now she doesn't need to unless she wants to take a drink, talk with someone, etc. She wears it into stores, gas stations, etc. You'd never know she was concerned about it.

Boom Mic

I use the boom mic on my Schuberth Concept Flip up. No concerns, just move it out of the way to put the helmet on, push it back to where you want it for riding.
