I have this unit on my '06 R1200RT and can't get the 5 hole plug to seat in the back of the mounting bracket. The receptical it plugs into has 5 gold prongs that go into the plug. Did anything get lodged into the plug holes? If all the pins are straight you may have the tiniest bit of crap in there causing you all these headaches.

I looked and it is clean of dirt. Thanks for the help.

Hooked up the power cable and by George she works. On/off toggle sw on the side was
in the off position. The small cable with the holes is not hooked up. Guess it doesn't need to be. I don't see any reference to it in the manual at all. I haven't used this unit for several years and am not that familar with it. But will be.
