An interesting experience!

I had bought my '07 RT this past winter, and recently thought that I might be interested in a low seat, since the standard seat is a little too tall for my comfort, at this time.

I usually shop online 100% of the time, but thought that I would support local dealership and give him my business. Therefore, on April 5, I had sent an e-mail requesting the price for a low seat. The part manager responded within hours, with the question of whether I wanted a heated, non-heated, or the low comfort seat? I immediately responded with the comment that I was thinking of standard non-heated seat, but perhaps he could provide me with prices for all three. How hard is it to look up the prices, right? Well, today is April 15, and I am still waiting for his reply!

In actuality, I had waited for almost a week, with the distinct feeling that it seem like they are not interested in my business. So, after about a week of waiting, I placed an order online with A&S, along with a few other sundries which I would have bought from BMOC, had they been interested in my business. My stuff will be here next week, from A&S!

I am interested to hear of others experience with BMOC, since they are local to me, and if this incident is an exception, I might want to use them for other services. Or, am I being too unreasonable in my expectations from a dealer?

Any comments will be most appreciated!

Bought my 05 KLT from them in 05 and have had some good service and some so so service, I think Dale is a great guy, but they seem to have dificulty keeping a service manager and mechanics? I called 6 weeks ago to get on the schedule for a brake fluid wheel circuit flush and am still waiting for a call back?

Problem is I have had so so experiences with the other local dealers as well, I just do what ever I can for maintanace and use online for apperal if they dont have what I need in stock.

GLEN

PS I did not say they have BAD SERVICE, just slow scheduling.

Thanks for the reply Glen. I am planning on doing all of the services myself, but there are times when I know that I want to get things done at the dealership for various reasons. I do drive by their dealership reasonably often, and quite frankly, I don't see them to be very busy, and so the kind of response that I was receiving (and apparently you also) really puzzle me! Here I was, trying to give some business to a local dealer (knowing that wherever I buy the seat, the price will be the same), and they don't seem to be interested.

Have you had any experience with Sills, over on Brookpark Road?

It's kinda funny, most members here have to drive hours to get to a dealer and we have three very close, bmwoc, sills, thw place down in wooster and even the dealer in new phili,
I have had some type of service performed at all 4 of them and I still search for a good compatent place that I can take my bike and know the service I request and pay good money for will be performed.
Maybe MAX or Bobs may be next?

Boy, that sure doesn't sound good for the local dealers does it! All it take is simple basic customer service, and it seem that they don't know, or care enough, to do it.

BTW, I am still waiting to hear from BMOC, but I think they had written me off already. Did you get your call-back, Glen?
