I have just got a BMR shelf (thanks Andy), and want to get my SPIII onto it.
BMR dont sell the angle brackets for the SPIII anymore.
Has anyone attatched their SPIII in any other way to the shelf? (or has an old angle bracket about the place!)
The bracket that BMR products originally sold to mount the SPIII was actually a tilt adjustable bracket that sold for use with the GPSMAP 295 - this was the aviation version of the SPIII. The bracket is still available from Garmin for 12.50 USD. The link to the bracket is below, I'm sure you can source it locally or from Ebay. Mounting holes are pre-located in the center of the shelf for this bracket, and BMW large-head tupperware screws are used to secure it. You may find the SPIII "bounces" around on rough road surfaces, if you stuff a small piece of foam rubber etc. under the bracket or the unit itself, the vibrations can be reduced.
