Had a county sheriff parked in my driveway at 5 AM this morning, on his loudspeaker at about 120dB, telling us to get to higher ground as there was a tsunami on it's way. This was our first in the 2 years we have lived here, so we were out the door & headed to higher ground within 5 minutes. It was a nice practice for when the real one arrives. Spent 2 hours on the other side of Hwy 101, about 200 feet up & a half mile inland. Never saw the ocean do anything out of the ordinary. We would have been ok this time staying at home, as we are on a cliff about 60 feet above the waves (see my avatar). Wife was bitching that we did not bring enough emergency "stuff" with us. She, however filled a medium sized shoulder bag with makeup. I took my laptop, cash, & my friend Col. Colt. Just the essentials.
