WOW,
I just picked the lil lady up - 01 1200LT-10K of the clock- all the goodies except the heated seat. I was almost jailed for assault and battery, 2 counts. LMSAO..
this is a story if you want me to share it later with yall. THis is about the RIDE- FIRST ride..
one hand the ANTI DESTINATION LEAGUE...in full service this past week.
second it RAINED every state- this was the Worst storm in MIchigan in 100 years according to the naysayers.. It has to be that way- I wouldnt have had it any other way.

I rode it 1334 miles at a 67 MPH average. Last day was 859 MIles....MIchigan/Indiana/Illinois/Missouri/Arkansas/Texas.

It would be impossible to get all the information down in a quick sentence or paragraph.. I could not possibly get all the emotional descriptives out there in a coherrant fashion to emulate the story as what it was- but you all have felt it at least as well.

ON the notes from questions entered from my previous post- here is what I have-

Yes the seat is uncomfortable for extended riding.. MY god she will eat the miles up effortlessly.
YEs this was the only way to get to know her.
The lights are WOW as she has the shock mounted lights.. my friend required 4 excedrin each night from having a pair of Aircraft landing lights on his back end for 10 + hours each day!
I am glad I did not get a Harley- or a GoldWIng (next time?)- Sorry Friends
I did notice that My friend and his DynaGlide - we compared notes-
I dropped more bolts than he did. SUspension arm to shock.. FELL off.
I was a hell of alot drier at the end of the day.... :D

NOW the big question- I do have the manual- do I do the 12k check up or take it to the dealer? Gotta ask...
this was sooo much fun even tho the girl got scratched by a band of sectagenarian bike riders....

NOW where?

The real question is how much money do you want to save? If you have some mechanical skills and a few tools do it yourself. And save hundreds and hundreds of dollars. I would let the dealer do the clutch and brake flush, though, they've got the proper tools and know how. If you take it to the dealer (even if only for the brakes) take off all of the tupperware. That will save them time, in turn, big bucks for you. And it's always good to know how to do it anyway.
Then ride 'till you're silly ..........................

I would say that's a very "unusual" thing to have happen,
my best guess is the previous owner had a set of expensive (Ohlins maybe) shocks that went on Ebay rather than with the bike and didn't tighten and locktite that bolt properly.
NOW where?
As soon as you replace BMW's weapon of ass destruction (the seat)

anywhere you haven't been for while. :D
