Any problem with running a bias tire on rear and a radial on front of a LT?

On my 3rd set of exactly that combo ... Avon radial fronts with BS 020 bias rears.
Ride 90%++ twisty roads and a excellent wearing and handling combo IMO.

Thanks, I bought a rear rim and tire off the forum classified site with a Bridgestone radial on it. Just to always have an extra tire mounted. I put a new radial on the front to match but took a short ride and notice a slight roaring sound and come to find out the rim I bought has a dent in it. Put my old rim with my Me 880 back on and sound stopped. Just thought about leaving it with this set up for a trip but needed some in put. So thanks I will leave it

Bias and Radial are construction type, but unlike a car tire where the carcass/tread of a radial moves flexing the sidewall, a motorcycle radial is rock solid with the wheel. Both bias and radial bikes tires operate the same and seam to work fine mixed.

And just as an additional point of interest, I am running a radial front with a bias rear on my Triumph Tiger, with the best results I've had for a set on that Bike since I've owned the Bike! So the old wive's tale about never mixing them really is just that as far as I'm concerned.

And another - I run radial front/bias rear (BT020). mostly on twisties, and find it is the best combination.

I am leaving on a 7000 mile 4 week trip. I am going to try it out. radial on front and bias on rear Thanks guys for input.

In post #2, Scott stated that he is using Avon front, B'stone rear. I'm going through the 020 fronts in 8 or 9 thousand miles. My dealer has recommended trying a Michelin Pilot Road 2 with the dual compound tread. I've resisted due to mixing radial and bias. This doesn't seem to be the concern it is with cars. Has anyone tried the PR2? What did you think? As for those running radial fronts, which tire are you using?

Most of what I have seen on this thread on mixing the 2 is Bias Rear and Radial Front. I am fixin to do the opposite. I didn't realize that the front tire on my LT was a Bias 880. I knew the rear tire was going to need to be replaced and thinking it was a radial I bought a Avon Storm 160/70 R17 V79 Reinf. on ebay for $139 before I took delivery of the bike. I am in the process of putting the new tire on the wheel as we speak and the front 880 bias tire which has many miles left on it will stay in place. I hope this combo will work OK? I was planning to put a new radial on the front when it needs top be replaced.

Any thoughts will be appreciated.
