Went to the towing yard to retrieve items left on the beerburner yesterday and to say goodbye to a dear friend. Today is surgery and then recovery. I am not sure what we will do next.

Gasp! followed by a respectful moment of silence.

Sorry for your loss. We hope you heal up quickly and we're glad that the damage to you was not any worse.

Floyd I didn't know you had an accident and the Beerburner was damaged, or you for that matter! Are you OK, is there anything I can do to help? I'm really sorry about the LT, I know you loved that bike. I hope you are OK.

Ouch! Testimony to ATGATT, I notice, similar to my escapade. I know - tough to lose an old friend, but looks like BB protected you as well as he could, as did mine.

First, heal well. Then have fun shopping.

Note: I took something from Raven to put in Dancing Heart - helped the transition. Did not do the 'transfer' until DH had 500 miles. Made a difference in how he rode after.

Glad you're OK. Not trying to be funny but my first impression was 'that will buff right out'...Is it really a total loss?

I have that same jacket, what put that nasty hole in the collar area?

Not sure what you're going to do next? Here's what you're going to do:
  • have the surgery (done, earlier today)
  • heal, rest and recuperate - do what the doc says!
  • during recuperation, you'll have plenty of time to look and think about what the next scoot is going to be
  • once fully recuperated... get that new ride, then share the good news here!
Thanks for sharing those photos. That shot of the helmet should be required viewing for all riders.

Whats the big deal.. The clock still works and you were smart enough to put on the mirror tethers. The rest will buff out, I'm sure! :D

p.s.- The biggest part...you can joke about the incident.

Floyd best wishes for a speedy recovery,
I didn't realize you went down as I don't read everything posted,
had to go back and catch up.

It's sad to see an old friend looking like that,
I can relate and feel your pain.

Get yourself patched up and take your time recovering,
healing seems to take longer for guys our age,
chances are you'll be ready to ride again long before your body is.

Be good to yourself and be sure to tell the ones you love,
that you love them....every day.......because you still can.
And that my friend is what really matters.

Heal up, and fast! Glad you are going to be OK.

Are you stripping the farkles off the Burner? I doubt that insurance will make much of an adjustment for their "value", and you might be able to auction them off (which coule be substantial). Just a thought...
