Bad Idling after using GS911 to sync engine

Used the GS911 to synchronize my engine. After balancing with the harmonizer, it asks you to click on the 'okay' icon before turning of the ignition. When I do this, the engine idles at about 2000 rpm and begins to surge up and down from low rpm to roughly 2500 rpm. There seems to be proper play in the throttle. When I ran through the whole process again and I started the engine, I 'clicked' to lock the idling and at that point it runs smooth. The issue only happens when I go to 'unlock'.
