I am putting the front wheel back on the LT after getting new tires. The bearings seem fine, like new actually. The service manual recommends greasing the axle and the bearing surfaces with a shell retinax grease. The best grease I am able to get locally is mobil 1 bearing grease. Is it ok to use this on the axle? Should I try and remove the old grease before greasing with the mobil 1 (I know that some greases are incompatible)?
Or, is there another grease with similar properties to the retinax that I should seek out?
Thank you for any help you can give.

The grease is there to prevent binding and corrosion. It does not lubricate any moving parts so it is not critical.
