I have a Garmin Streetpilot III, which I think is the BMW NavII (?), and want to use it with my Autocom but the Autocom instructions are pretty basic, covering only use of headsets and nothing about plugging in anything into the Aux or Music sockets. It did come with leads, but these are both stereo and the output from the Garmin is mono, so I guess I will need to make up a lead? And, which is the best input socket to use - Music or Aux? I don't like music on the move as it's too distracting - and my new bike (R1200RT) comes with a radio too!

Thanks in advance for any help.

Autocom

Aux input is normally for phones so use the music if it is not being used. If your leads have the 4 ring connectors you may need to get the correct lead from Autocom - if they are just normal stereo they should work.

The leads with the Autocom came with it.

I did some searching around the Autocom site and it appears that the Part 50 lead will connect the Garmin to the Autocom, although the 2.5mm plug on one end of the lead will short out one channel when plugged into the Garmin as the Garmin output is mono only. I wouldn't think that would cause a problem - would anyone else?
