Astech seats are located in Jonesboro, Illinois. They specialise in seat modifications using all American foam and gel products. I'm currently inquiring via email about firming up my '05 BMW "soft touch" rider's seat and they appear to be familiar with the problems with the stock configuration (too soft, wrong shape, too narrow etc). Does anyone actually have a reworked seat from them ? And if so, I would welcome comments etc, as once I commit to the change there's vitually no going back, and Tasmania is a lonnng way from Illinois.

I shipped my original seat off to them yesterday. I have the Soft Touch on my bike now. I thought I'd give them a try. It has to be better than the original seat. Another rider on the forum just had his seat redone and should have it back by now. I'll post a review of the seat as soon as I get it back and put some miles on it.................... :)

I have an appointment the last week in June to have my LT seat adjusted down an inch and add their gel to my seat.(My wife is very comfortable on her passenger seat) We are making a couple days' ride from WI through some fun back roads to the appointment, and will be sure to let you know how it comes out. Primary reason is the height-i'm 5'10" and hope this gives me just a bit more feet down at stops. Keep you posted. I was impressed with their quick response to e mails, setting up appointments. I appreciate good service

Jonesboro, IN, not IL is where Astech seat is located

Had a positive visit there last week to have some adjustment to my seat on the LT. I'm 5'10" and always struggled with flat feet at stops. After some minor shaving of the sides of my seat, I'm thrilled with being able to do just that-what seems so simple actually made a huge difference. Pat and his team of Tom and Jeff are a blast to know=wonderful craftsmen, very reasonable price, and worth a trip to rural IN to a town of less than 2000.

Guys, if you need to get more security with this top heavy bike, I'd recommend Astech seat highly.
