I had a Corbin on a 2000 Valk and liked it. Anyone in here have the Corbin low front seat? It says it lowers the front seat to 28.5 " high, which is good for me with a 30" inseam. How comfortable and how does it hold up? Mind on the Valk did well....

Hi
I have a complete heated Corbin seat (low front) if you are interested. It came with a 2000LT I bought last year, it is in it's original box.

I just installed a Corbin low seat on my 2002 LT, it came off a 2007. 4 allen bolts to attach and no modifications required, less than 30 minutes to do.

Doesn't it really depend on whether or not the bike originally came with the low seat from the factory?

I am thinking if it did - no modifications needed. If not - some trimming will be neccessary.

Did your 2002 LT come from factory with the lower seat or standard seat?

From Corbin's Low Front Seat Notes: Download LOW saddle instructions and see what the installation requires. Lewis Lyons
Measurements:

Low Front Saddle Dimensions: Rider seating:15.5" wide x 19.5" long
Approx. seat height: 28.5"
Installation Instructions for LOW saddle only: Page 1 - Page 2
Corbin's Front saddle will install with your stock BMW rear saddle although it was not specifically designed to do so. There will be a 1" gap between the front Corbin and rear stock seats if installed in this configuration. Consider getting the Corbin rear seat also!
If your bike did not originally come with a heated seat then you have to take the plastic plug off the wiring and turn it around so it can accept the wiring on the Corbin saddle.
Corbin #K12-LT-TR and #K12-LT-TR-FLAT work with stock BMW rack on top of trunk.
Just like the BMW model low saddle, Corbin's low design front saddle requires trimming of the bodywork to install.
No modifications required on the 2005 model to fit the low seat version; part # K12-LT-F-SHRT.
When designing this saddle, we provided additional room in the rider seating area to allow you to move around more on long trips. Adding to the length of the seating area enables you to slide fore and aft as needed.

Yes, have one on my 06. Was told by Corbin it takes about 1000 mi. to break it in. My butt is still waiting for the breakin well after the 1000.

I don't have the low seat but did just install the standard seats. I'm over 1k on it now and finding it keeps feeling better and better. It's feeling quite comfy now. YMMV.

From the Corbin FAQ :

In addition, Corbin's foam has a memory feature. After a break-in period of approximately 1500-2000 miles, the saddle will actually take on the shape of the rider which provides even better weight dispersion and custom fitted comfort.

Put mine on today. Immeadiate improvement over the soft stock seat. Downside is that the Cee Bailey minus 2 is now too tall. I had to adjust to look through instead of over. It will definitely take some ride time to break in, but a 2x4 would be better than that stock seat. Better reach for a 29" inseam.

No, my bike did not come with a lowered seat however the adjustment bar for the seat had been removed. I expected to have to do some plastic trimming but was surprised that it fit perfectly with no alterations required.
