I've mentioned the non-working AM radio on my bike in several posts - here's an update. The bike is a '22 RT. I troubleshot the problem last summer as an antenna issue by buying a $10 short rod antenna on Amazon and discovered the radio worked very well with the cheapo antenna.
Finally got around to replacing the AM antenna with a OEM replacement part. Mixed results - the new one is a definite improvement, in that I now get stations, but not nearly as well as the cheapo rod antenna. The only difference between the two OEM antennas is that the replacement was made a week earlier than the original. So I would conclude the one that came on my bike is defective, and the replacement is perhaps working as designed (poorly).
