Anyone have a source for a replacement clamp for bmw part 13541465098 ?
it is # 6 in the pic.
it is a crimp type clamp.
I would like to replace all 4 with a screw type clamp like #4

btw, #4 is a 49mm
#6 is a 51mm

John, I tried to do the same thing, but figured out right away that there wasn't enough room for the screw head on the back intake. Can't remember about the front, but I ended up putting the snap types back in on #1 and #4.

I just used the "#6" in place of the crimp clamps and rotated the screws to clear the linkage. All's well without the crimp style clamp.

Best of luck...

+1 here as well! You just need to watch the placement of the screws and use a long thin screwdriver. Screw them clamp types (pun intended)! :)

ernie,
are you saying you used the #4 clamp in place of the #6 clamp(s) ?

I was going to try that today. the #6 is a 49mm and the #4 is a 51.5 mm
but I'm thinking it might work. at least I can get them at Das BMW...

John, I'm not Ernie (although I have visited his great shop!), but I am quite sure that is what he meant. I did not read it so closely when I did the "+1" reply, but that is probably because I already had the solution pre-formed in my mind from my own experience. The lower screw type clamp will work in both places as long as you are careful where you place the screw drive.

HTH,

John

Thanks Guys... for sharing the info.

just stepped in from the garage.... I tried swapping the clamps and they fit fine. screw drives shouldn't be a problem.

also, a big :thumb: to john Z and kevin cook....
I just buttoned up the arse end after drilling the weephole.... with a small sidetrack of ripping the tranny in half.... :histerica

it's nice to have a visual along with the manual ....

Good to know you can swap them. I wasn't able to make it work, but then again I've never been to Ernie's garage  . Be sure to test the throttle operation before you button up. Mine was bound up my first try.
